1. Who We Are

Check the Base is a small independent antiques business based in Scotland, UK.

2. What We Sell

Everything is genuine pre-owned antique or vintage.

We describe items honestly, including wear or damage.

If unsure, ask before buying.

3. Provenance & Attribution

Dating and attribution are based on research and visible features.

Descriptions are opinions, not guarantees.

If uncertain, we will say so.

4. Prices

All prices are in GBP.

Postage is added at checkout — no hidden fees.

5. Orders & Payment

Orders must be paid in full before dispatch.

We accept debit/credit cards, PayPal, and any methods shown at checkout.

6. Postage & Delivery

We dispatch within 2–3 working days.

We pack items carefully.

Responsibility passes to you once the item is delivered.

If anything arrives damaged, contact us with photos.

International postage available on request.

7. Returns & Cancellations

Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations:

– 14 days to cancel after delivery

– 14 days to return after cancelling

Items must be:

– in the same condition

– securely packaged

Refunds:

– issued to your original payment method

– processed within 14 days of return

If the return is due to our error → we pay postage

Otherwise → buyer pays return postage

Your statutory rights are not affected.

8. Watches

Where sold as working, we provide video evidence before dispatch.

Please check within 48 hours of arrival.

Vintage watches:

– no guarantee of long-term accuracy

– performance may vary

9. Photos & Content

All images and text are our own.

Please do not reuse without permission.

10. Liability

Liability is limited to the amount paid.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
